Lisa Hart has been working in the education sector for the past 29 years. She began her career in education as a teacher to 7th and 8th-grade students.  Through her career as an educator, she realized her passion was in helping students succeed in their academic endeavors and staying competitive for the next step in their education. This interest evolved into her work as a College Counselor helping students navigate the college research, planning, and application process.

After working with students in middle school, Lisa spent 10 years working in a university career and testing center.  There she supervised the university's testing services, as well as assisted with providing career services to the students and alumni. After earning her Master of Education degree in School Counseling, Lisa began her career as a college counselor at a competitive, private, college preparatory high school. As a college counselor, she focused on assisting students to be competitive for college admissions and developing their future career goals. Lisa specializes in developing a college list, identifying financially viable colleges, providing guidance on writing compelling college essays, helping students navigate their college applications, applying for financial aid and scholarships, and comparing financial award offers. In addition, Lisa uses the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory to help students determine a good fit career or college major. She believes in forming a collaborative relationship with the student's current high school counselor and in lessening the stress that often accompanies the college application process.

Lisa completed both her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and her Master of Education in School Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. She is an active member of NACAC and TACAC, and is a certified Texas school counselor.  Lisa has also served as a mentor to First-Generation college students.
